1. Chengyang Eight Villages Scenic Area
Chengyang Eight Villages is a typical Dong ethnic settlement with a history of over 600 years, and a 5A-level scenic spot. It consists of eight Dong villages, with the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge as the core landmark. The bridge, built in 1916, is a masterpiece of Dong ethnic architecture, with no nails used in the whole structure, relying on tenon-and-mortise joints. In the villages, there are drum towers unique to the Dong people. Every festival, the Dong people hold grand activities such as drum tower singing and dancing, antiphonal singing, showing the rich and colorful ethnic culture of the Dong people.


2. Liuzhou Stone Forest Scenic Area
Liuzhou Stone Forest, also known as Malan Stone Forest, is a magnificent karst stone forest landscape formed hundreds of millions of years ago. The stone peaks are strange and varied, with different shapes. It has a long cultural history, and there are many cliff paintings and inscriptions left by ancient people. The local Zhuang people have lived here for generations, and their folk customs are simple. There are many legends and stories about the stone forest among the people. Visitors can walk among the stone peaks, appreciate the magical natural landscape, and also understand the folk culture related to the stone forest.


3. Liuzhou Museum
Liuzhou Museum is a comprehensive museum displaying the history, culture and natural ecology of Liuzhou. Its collection includes precious cultural relics such as the fossils of Liujiang Man (ancient human remains), bronze drums of the Dong and Zhuang ethnic groups, and ancient ceramics. The exhibition of Liujiang Man fossils is a highlight, which is of great significance for the study of the origin and evolution of human beings in southern China. The museum also has a special exhibition area for ethnic culture, showing the costumes, customs and living conditions of the ethnic minorities in Liuzhou, allowing visitors to have a comprehensive understanding of Liuzhou’s cultural diversity.

4. Longtan Park
Longtan Park, located in the southern suburbs of Liuzhou, is a large-scale scenic area integrating mountains, water, forests and cultural landscapes. It has a long history and was a place for ancient people to sacrifice and hold religious activities. The core landscape is Longtan Lake, surrounded by green mountains. There are cultural relics such as ancient temples and stone carvings in the park. It is also a habitat for many rare plants and animals. The park holds traditional folk activities every year, such as the Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Race and the Mid-Autumn Festival Moon Appreciation Party, which are deeply loved by citizens and tourists.


5. Liuzhou Ancient Town of Luzhai
Luzhai Ancient Town is an ancient town with a history of over 500 years, located on the banks of the Liujiang River. It was once an important post station on the ancient trade route. The ancient town retains a large number of Ming and Qing dynasties buildings, with bluestone streets, wooden buildings and ancient bridges. The local people still maintain the traditional way of life. There are many folk handicraft workshops in the town, such as wood carving, bamboo weaving and embroidery. Visitors can watch the production process, buy hand-made works, and also taste local snacks, feeling the strong ancient town style.


6. Yufeng Mountain Scenic Area
Yufeng Mountain is located in the urban area of Liuzhou, with an altitude of more than 200 meters. It is a famous scenic spot and a place for citizens to exercise and relax. The mountain has a long cultural history, and there are many inscriptions and ancient temples on the mountain. The main peak has a viewing platform, from which you can have a bird’s-eye view of the whole Liuzhou urban area and the winding Liujiang River. The mountain is covered with dense vegetation, and there are many hiking trails. In spring, peach and plum blossoms are in full bloom, and the scenery is very beautiful. It is a good place to integrate natural scenery and urban culture.


7. Sanjiang Drum Tower
Sanjiang Drum Tower, located in Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, is the tallest and largest drum tower in China. It was built in 2002, inheriting the traditional architectural style of the Dong ethnic group. The drum tower is made of wood, with no nails, relying on exquisite tenon-and-mortise joints. It has multiple layers of cornices, which are magnificent and beautiful. The drum tower is the center of Dong people’s social and cultural activities. Every festival, the Dong people gather here to sing, dance and hold various folk activities. It is not only a symbol of Dong ethnic architecture, but also an important carrier of Dong ethnic culture.
