Three Gorges Dam

Three Gorges Family Scenic Area

A scenic area integrating natural landscapes and Tujia ethnic customs, located on the banks of the Yangtze River. It includes scenic spots such as Longjinxi, Stone Village, and Baidi City. You can see the stilted buildings of the Tujia people, watch Tujia wedding performances, and listen to boatmen’s chants. The mountains here are green, the water is clear, and the ethnic customs are rich, like a paradise hidden in the Three Gorges.

Qingjiang Gallery Scenic Area

Known as "Eight Hundred Miles Qingjiang as Beautiful as a Picture", it is a scenic area with the Qingjiang River as the main line. Taking a cruise ship to visit, you can enjoy the green mountains and clear waters on both sides of the Qingjiang River, and the unique karst landforms. There are also Tujia villages along the river, where you can experience Tujia culture and taste local snacks. It is a typical water landscape scenic area in the south of the Yangtze River.

Qu Yuan’s Hometown Scenic Area

Located in Zigui County, it is built to commemorate Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet in China. The scenic area includes Qu Yuan’s Temple, Qu Yuan’s Tomb, and the Zigui Ancient City. There are many cultural relics and buildings related to Qu Yuan, and grand activities are held every Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate him. It is a cultural scenic spot integrating poetry culture, patriotic education, and ancient city customs.

Gezhouba Water Control Project

The first large-scale water conservancy project built on the Yangtze River, completed in 1988. It has promoted the development of China’s water conservancy and hydropower undertakings. The Gezhouba Scenic Area allows visitors to watch the operation of the ship lock and the power generation process. It is an important base for popular science education on water conservancy.

Xiling Gorge

One of the three gorges of the Yangtze River, known for its dangerous rapids and steep cliffs. The Xiling Gorge Scenic Area includes many scenic spots such as the Military Books and Precious Sword Gorge and the Ox Liver and Horse Lung Gorge. The canyon is deep and the scenery is magnificent. Taking a cruise ship through the Xiling Gorge, you can feel the natural wonders of the Yangtze River Gorges.

Yichang Museum

It collects a large number of cultural relics from the Three Gorges area, including cultural relics unearthed during the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, and historical relics reflecting the culture of the Yangtze River Basin. The museum uses modern exhibition methods to show the natural and cultural history of the Three Gorges area, which is of great significance for understanding the Three Gorges culture.
