Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea (Shunan Zhuhai)

Stretching across Yibin and Luzhou, the Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea is one of China’s largest and most famous bamboo forest scenic areas, covering over 120 square kilometers. It is a sea of bamboos, with more than 58 species of bamboos. The undulating mountains are covered with green bamboos, forming a magnificent and unique landscape. The scenic area includes many attractions such as the Sea of Clouds Viewing Platform, the Heavenly Bamboo Waterfall, and the Bamboo Temple. It is also the filming location of the famous martial arts movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. Visitors can take a bamboo raft on the lake, walk along the bamboo paths, and taste delicious bamboo-themed dishes, enjoying the quiet and beautiful natural environment.

Lizhuang Ancient Town

Known as “the first ancient town on the Yangtze River”, Lizhuang Ancient Town has a history of over 1,400 years. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, it became a cultural sanctuary, with many famous universities and cultural institutions moving here, including Tsinghua University and Peking University’s research institutes, making it a cultural center in southwest China. The ancient town retains a large number of well-preserved traditional buildings, such as the Huiguang Tower, the Confucian Temple, and the Zhang Family Mansion, with unique architectural styles integrating Sichuan and southern Chinese characteristics. It is also famous for its local specialty, Lizhuang White Meat, and its rich cultural heritage, attracting many cultural lovers and tourists.

Xingwen Stone Sea

Xingwen Stone Sea is a world-famous karst landscape scenic area, known as “the first sea of stone in the world”. It features a unique combination of above-ground stone forests and underground caves, with spectacular landscapes such as giant sinkholes, stone pillars, and underground rivers. The Tiankeng (giant sinkhole) here is one of the largest in China, with a depth of over 200 meters. The underground caves are magnificent, with strange stalactites and stalagmites. The scenic area also has a rich cultural heritage of the Bo people, an ancient ethnic group, with many cultural relics such as the Bo people’s hanging coffins. It is a perfect place for geological exploration, adventure tourism and cultural research.

Cuiping Mountain

Cuiping Mountain is a famous scenic mountain in Yibin, located on the banks of the Yangtze River. It is covered with lush trees, with a beautiful natural environment and many cultural attractions. The mountain is home to the Zhao Yiman Memorial Hall, commemorating the heroic anti-Japanese female martyr Zhao Yiman, displaying her life story and revolutionary relics. There is also the Nezha Ancestral Temple, which is said to be the birthplace of Nezha in Chinese mythology, attracting many believers. The Tang Dynasty cliff carvings of the Thousand Buddha Platform are precious stone-carving artworks, reflecting the Buddhist art of the Tang Dynasty. Climbing to the top of Cuiping Mountain, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Yibin City and the confluence of the Minjiang and Yangtze rivers.

Wuliangye Scenic Area

As the birthplace of China’s famous Baijiu brand Wuliangye, this scenic area is located in Yibin’s Cuiping District, with a long history of winemaking spanning over 4,000 years. The scenic area includes the Wuliangye Winery, the Baijiu Culture Museum, and the ancient wine cellars. Visitors can learn about the traditional brewing process of Wuliangye, which uses five grains (glutinous rice, rice, wheat, corn, sorghum) and unique microbial environments in the cellars. The museum displays a large number of cultural relics related to wine, including ancient wine vessels, wine labels, and historical documents, showing the profound wine culture of China. It is a must-visit place for wine lovers.

Junlian Hot Springs

Junlian Hot Springs is a famous hot spring resort in Yibin’s Junlian County, located at the foot of the mountains. The hot spring water comes from deep underground, with a constant temperature of around 40°C, rich in various minerals beneficial to human health, such as sulfur, calcium, and magnesium. The scenic area has a variety of hot spring pools, including outdoor natural pools, indoor luxury pools, and medicinal pools with different functions. Surrounded by green mountains and clear waters, the hot spring resort offers a quiet and comfortable environment. It is an ideal place for relaxation, health preservation, and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Yibin Yangtze River Bridge & Ancient City Wall

The Yibin Yangtze River Bridge is a magnificent modern bridge spanning the Yangtze River, connecting the two banks of Yibin City. It is not only an important transportation hub but also a scenic spot for viewing the Yangtze River. The nearby ancient city wall of Yibin has a history of over 1,000 years, built during the Song Dynasty. The remaining sections of the city wall are made of stone, with thick and solid structures, recording the historical changes of Yibin.
