Wuzhen
Nestled in Tongxiang City, Jiaxing, Wuzhen stands as one of the six ancient towns in southern China. Covering 71.19 square kilometers with 7.86 square kilometers of developed urban area, this historic town traces its roots to the Majiabang Culture (7000 years ago) and served as a borderland between Wu and Yue during the Spring and Autumn Period. Established in the Tang Dynasty, Wuzhen features a distinctive "cross-shaped" layout comprising East, West, South, and North Quarters, with the Market River flowing through its core. The town's architecture predominantly showcases Ming and Qing dynasty brick-and-timber dwellings, arranged along the river in a picturesque "riverfront residential" pattern. Notable landmarks include Mao Dun's Former Residence, Mu Xin Art Museum, Xiuzhen Taoist Temple, Huiyuan Pawnshop, traditional dyeing workshops, and historic distilleries. Designated as a National 5A Tourist Attraction in 2001, Wuzhen also became the permanent venue for the World Internet Conference in 2014.

Xitang Ancient Town
Located in Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, it is one of the six ancient towns in the Jiangnan region. The town covers an area of 82.92 square kilometers, with a core protected area of 1.01 square kilometers. Xitang was established during the Ming Dynasty, featuring flat terrain and a network of rivers, with nine waterways converging and 24 stone bridges connecting them. The town has nearly 2,000 meters of covered walkways along the river, providing shelter from rain and sun for pedestrians. Most buildings are brick-and-wood structures from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with 122 lanes, the narrowest of which is only 0.8 meters wide. Major landmarks include Xiyuan, Zhongfutang, Xuezhai, Nizhai, Shengtang, and Zuiyuan. In 2003, it was listed as one of the first China Historical and Cultural Towns, and in 2011, it was rated as a national 5A-level tourist attraction.

the south lake
Nestled in Nanhu District of Jiaxing City, this lake is formed by the confluence of canal tributaries, covering 0.54 square kilometers with a depth of 2-4 meters. During the Tianfu era of the Later Jin Dynasty in the Five Dynasties period, King Qian Yuanzhi of Wuyue constructed towers and terraces here, which later became a popular tourist destination after the Southern Song Dynasty. The lake contains two islands, one of which features the Yanyu Tower (Smoke and Rain Tower), originally built in the Five Dynasties period and later reconstructed during the Republic of China era. In early August 1921, the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held aboard a painted pleasure boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, marking the founding of the Communist Party of China. A commemorative boat named "The First Congress" now moors on the southeastern shore of the central island, measuring 16 meters long and 3 meters wide, with cabins for the bow, middle section, sleeping quarters, and stern. The Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall, a new 19,600-square-meter complex completed in 2011, stands as a landmark. The Nanhu Scenic Area is recognized as a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
